triptychon plays with both the space of the Berlin St.Elisabeth Church and the space between the performers themselves, which the three dancers open up through their movement.

triptychon was the result of a close collaboration with the filmmaker Sushma U. Gütter. Sushma visited rehearsals to become familiar with the dancers and their movements, with the choreography and my intention. Together, we explored the space and discovered the smaller, individual parts of the bigger church. Lots of talks, sketches and possible camera positions were discussed alongside the development of the dance. We spent many hours in front of the screen to watch and edit footage.

Josh Winiberg composed the music parallel to the editing of the film. His audio designed was directly influenced by the sounds of the movements. We talked a lot about the particular aesthetic of music I desired to reflect my ideas and it became a nice interplay of my acoustic visions and his enriching ideas.
